Boston Marathon

Boston. The marathon that all other marathons are measured by. This isn’t only the world’s oldest marathon but regarded as one of the world’s most challenging races. Monday, April 15th - Patriots' Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Our Club Race Captain for this year's Boston Marathon is Alejandra Cadena.

On Sunday morning at 9am, we will be meeting at the finish line to begin a very easy 2-mile shakeout run (over the finish approach of the course - to somewhere around the "One Mile To Go" painted on the pavement). We will finish at the race expo at the John B. Hynes Convention Center (for those who still need to check-in, spend more time on the NormaTec machine, shop, etc.). Also for those interested, some of us are interested in the 11am seminar: "Running your best Boston. Tips and guidance from race veterans" 

Then, at 5pm Alejandra has a pre-race pasta reservation set for our team at the comfy and casual Benevento's (111 Salem St.) - yes, gluten-free pasta options for anyone who wants.

On Race Day - Our SFRRC post-race gathering will begin at the OAK Long Bar in the Fairmont Copley Plaza at 3:30pm. For those interested, the marathon's award ceremony takes place in the hotel from 5-6pm. Then, we'll continue our celebration at the Mile 27 Post-Race Party presented by 26.2 Brew at Fenway Park (taking place from 6:30pm - 10pm).
