The San Francisco Road Runners Club was founded in 2001 by a small group of San Francisco runners looking to provide an opportunity for runners to meet, train and have fun together regardless of their running ability. The goals of SFRRC are to support a healthy lifestyle, and to promote a smart, safe injury-free running experience. The SFRRC provides three group runs a week and training programs to support local marathons and half marathons.
The SFRRC is comprised of more than 400 annual members, with a leadership board of twelve volunteers who manage the daily operations of the club, and 22 pace group leaders and coaches who lead the group runs. As an all-volunteer non-profit organization, the SFRRC has helped more than 2,500 members achieve their running goals since its inception.
The SFRRC annual supports the places we run and has donated more than $50,000 to local organizations such as San Francisco Rec & Park and The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy.
